Folds

By Ori Leibovici

8 hands and 8 feet project done with origami. Photo by Ori Leibovici.

This piece is by a student who goes to Dreyfoos School of the Arts. This artist has a brief past of doing origami and has a deep love for it. That is why he chose to use this idea to represent himself in his piece. I personally deeply enjoy the creativity with this piece. The artist had hands and feet doing origami and made it into a piece of art. The hands and feet are well drawn and they well distributed among the paper. I believe that the message of the piece is that he has gone through doing origami, progressing, and getting better overtime through the help of resources, mastering it at the end. This is all displayed on the crease pattern of the origami model that has been produced in the drawing. This artist has conveyed his message very well.

This piece unfortunately has flaws. It's craftsmanship could of been better, it needs a little bit more of distribution of darks to equal it out, and the lighting is a bit to strong. But over all it is very well done. This artist has a great potential with his work and I can't wait to see what he has to offer.
