Metal Sonata

Created by Tyler Brunner

By MADALYN RAE

Tyler Brunner a Visual Sophomore at DSOA is making his mark in the music industry. From everyday conquests with various talents, Brunner has been making a large impact in the school. The piece shown above is named "Metal Sonata." This is an album cover for the band "Brutal". As astounding as it is, the band is also under lead of this enthusiastic Dreyfoos sophomore.

The piece depicts a gruesome scene meant to show the true colors of hysteria. The art was made using an online Wacom Tablet as well as Photoshop. This is a digital showcase of what Brunner can create and is well done and, with lack of a better word, strategic. The colors go hand in hand and dance like fire, making a map of the skin. The eye color contrasts the muscular refinement of the faces features.

Asymmetry plays a big role in this composition. It evens out the odd color choices making this an accurate vision of what a album cover should contain. When I asked family members what they thought of the composition one member stated that
" I didn’t know so much work could go into a simple band cover. That's impressive." This statement shows that this piece is truly an achievement.

Personally I have never met such a hard working student. I cannot wait to see what else comes out of this young man.
